Fumbi Product Portfolio Update – June 2023
At the beginning of June, after another three months, we carried out a regular update of Fumbi’s product portfolio. Regular updates are an essential part of managing our products and portfolios so that they comply with strict selection criteria and meet all necessary standards.
The quarterly update is a vital and necessary process during which our experts actively research current trends and review the overall market situation.
In the second half of May, Fumbi’s Investment Committee met to jointly discuss and review the current situation in the cryptocurrency market and make important decisions in order to maintain the most optimal return-risk profile of our portfolios and products. After much discussion and review of all factors affecting current market conditions, the committee has reached a consensus regarding the regular update. Thus, the June update will bring several new assets and new features to help investors on the path to achieving their investment goals.
Fumbi Index Portfolio
At the core of our quarterly updates is a modification to our Fumbi Index Portfolio. This product is popular among investors for its simplicity and efficiency as it follows the market itself. As a part of the update, we have decided to add one new cryptocurrency to the portfolio composition and remove one existing cryptocurrency that does not currently meet our formal criteria.
Added asset:
- Arbitrum (ARB) – Arbitrum is a Layer 2 (L2) solution on the Ethereum network designed to increase the speed and scalability of the underlying blockchain. Arbitrum is currently Ethereum’s largest scaling solution in terms of number of transactions, number of applications, and total locked value (TVL).
Removed asset:
- Flow Blockchain (FLOW) – We have decided to delist the FLOW cryptocurrency from the Fumbi Index Portfolio due to the fact that it does not currently meet one of our formal criteria for placement in the top 50 cryptocurrencies in terms of market capitalisation. Flow Blockchain is currently ranked 58th. However, the FLOW asset remains part of the Staking Portfolio, and it is also possible to find FLOW in the Advanced Portfolios product in the “Layer One Portfolio” template or to add it to your own portfolio.
Advanced Portfolios
Additionally, we have also made changes to the Advanced Portfolios product, which allows our users to create their own diversified cryptocurrency portfolios or choose one of Fumbi’s pre-made templates.
As part of the update, we’ve added five new assets that you’ll be able to include in your own investment portfolios. These assets include:
- Render Token (RNDR) – Render is a platform that allows users to contribute unused GPU power from their home devices to help projects render motion graphics and visual effects. In exchange, they receive a Render Token (RNDR), the native token of the Render Network.
- Arbitrum (ARB) – Arbitrum is a Layer 2 (L2) solution on the Ethereum network designed to increase the speed and scalability of the underlying blockchain. Arbitrum is currently Ethereum’s largest scaling solution in terms of number of transactions, number of applications and in terms of total locked value (TVL).
- Sui Network (SUI) – Sui is a tier one blockchain created by former Meta staff, which is considered the heir to the now-defunct Libra crypto project from Facebook.
- Shiba Inu (SHIB) – Shiba Inu is a popular memecoin modelled after the Japanese dog breed Shiba Inu. The project was created by an anonymous founder with the pseudonym Rioshi and is run entirely by a community of users.
- Injective (INJ) – Injective Protocol is an interoperable smart contract platform aimed at developing the decentralised finance sector. Using pre-made modifiable smart contracts, it allows developers to create decentralised exchanges, prediction markets and other other types of financial applications.
These cryptocurrencies were selected based on their potential and growing popularity in the cryptocurrency sector. We are confident that these new cryptocurrencies will allow you to further customise your investment strategies and achieve your financial goals.
It is important to highlight that the templates within the Advanced Portfolios product will not change during this update. If you can’t decide what to invest in, you can choose one of our pre-made templates that are carefully curated by our team of experts.
What are our selection criteria for cryptocurrencies?
At Fumbi, we follow strict rules for selecting the cryptocurrencies that make it into our portfolio. In addition to formal criteria related to liquidity, market capitalisation or custodial capability, assets must have strong fundamentals within three categories that we identify as the key categories in the market: payment systems, decentralised finance and Web3.
